readers and card swipes have replaced conventional time clocks and
time cards. For many clients, having their employees run an ID card
through a card reader is the first step in automating their time and
attendance.
End to Paper Time Cards: There is no need to manually compute employee time from paper time card, and then have to store all those cards should you ever need them again. Issuing employee ID cards, and using a card reader and card swipe technology saves time and improves accuracy. Wide Selection of Hardware and Technologies: Some card readers are better suited to harsh industrial environments, while others are better suited to an information worker/white collar application. Some card readers can be installed as nodes on your network, while others can be stand-alone terminals that collect and store data until they are polled. Some readers do not require contact with the employee’s ID card. Prox (or proximity) readers read each employee’s ID card as he or she passes through the door each morning!
